LE JEU (PlEASURE & PLAY)

Sometimes we are a little too serious. Theatre is alive and interesting when the actors have pleasure, they are surprising, both the audience and themselves.

Through a series of exercises explore your pleasure in playing on the stage, establish a connection with your fellow performers and the audience, find a game in the scene, and a freedom on the stage.

This is a workshop which is available to artists of all levels and non-performers.

Cost determined by duration and amount of participants.

NEUTRAL Mask

Explore elements, animals, environments through the neutral masque and free the body and the voice. You’ll discover movements and sounds you never knew you had in you.

This unit can also be combined with Mask Play which teaches the actor the telling of a story purely through the physical, utilising stillness, fixed points, isolation of movement, and comedic timing.

Cost determined by duration and amount of participants.

CLOWN

Slap on a nose and the flop is your new best friend! Embrace the ridiculousness, explore and discover what is uniquely funny and loveable about you.

Clown is beneficial to actors, cabaret performers, singers, dancers, anyone in and outside of the performing arts! It allows us to tap in to that child-like innocence and playfulness which is quickly abandoned in adulthood, to play, show our vulnerability and humanity.

Cost determined by duration and amount of participants.

Bouffon

The clown who has something to say. The Bouffon emerge to speak the truth, to shine a light on the injustices in society with dignity and humour.

Physically engaging, and freeing on so many levels, explore this European satirical theatrical style so rarely taught in Australia.

This one is Britt’s favourite, this style is used in our current work Chameleon.

Cost determined by duration and amount of participants.
